Sarvam AI launches Indus, India's sovereign AI chat app
Sarvam AI, one of India's leading sovereign AI startups, has launched Indus – a consumer AI chat app powered by its homegrown 105-billion-parameter large language model. Available on iOS, Android, and the web, Indus allows users to type or speak queries and receive responses in text and audio, marking a significant step in India's push toward AI self-reliance.
The launch follows the unveiling of Sarvam's 105B and 30B foundational models at the India AI Impact Summit in New Delhi. Indus is built on Sarvam's full-stack AI infrastructure developed entirely in India. The app is currently in limited beta as the company scales compute capacity, with broader access planned over time.
The company is also reportedly in talks to raise a new funding round, signaling strong investor confidence in its sovereign AI vision.
